Nasionalisme di Era Globalisasi melalui Peningkatan Eksistensi Bahasa Indonesia
Abstract
Indonesian language has a great urgency or importance for its use in communicating between people in the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). In this era of globalization, various cultures, to foreign languages began to spread and integrate with the habits of people in various regions in Indonesia. Nowadays, the use of foreign languages seems more impressive than the use of Indonesian. Many Indonesian youths are more interested in using international languages in social media and daily activities. This means that the existence of the Indonesian language in Indonesia must be improved so that it is not affected by globalization because preserving the Indonesian language is an obligation that must be carried out by all Indonesian people. Therefore, this research article intends to show the decline in pride in the use of the Indonesian language, the causes and ways to minimize it. The method used in this research is literature study and quantitative research by quesionnaire. The results of the study include that pride in the use of the Indonesian language has decreased as shown by the increasing number of product names and places of business in international languages. The causes are language competition, pride in foreign languages, and lack of loyalty to Indonesian. This problem can be solved by instilling a love for language in individuals and reading many Indonesian literature books.
